Our stay-cation highlights!

It's peach season! WOOhoo!!

We visited the World's Largest Treehouse!
This was the view from the top!
Guess who's afraid of heights? Yeah. Me.
We have the same smile!
Nashville Walk of the Stars (or something like that)
Pathetic attempt at a photo of all the kids.
Playing tourist!
Baby boy crying because I won't make him cake.
We finally got our new van!! Look! All in ONE vehicle!!
It makes me feel VERY short.
That's pretty much the update! New van, staycation, peaches!
OH!
And while we were downtown...
three of my kids got to meet....
DOLLY!!!
Our cousins were in town and they don't want to be on the internet...
therefore the cute little hearts. So, no... that's not just a bad picture of me. ;)
She was very nice to everyone and my kids were super excited to have met
Hannah Montana's grandmother.
Yeah.

Photo journaling my day

I thought I would try a post to "show" you what a day-in-the-life-of-me really looks like...
so here goes!

5:30am. Too early to be awake...
but the new normal-
thanks to the littles.

"Holy toy explosion, batman!"
I will ignore it as
this playtime gives me time to
drink as much coffee as
possible before
they are all clamoring for food!

LOVE my new cookbook...
LOVE the 6-week bran muffin recipe!

Looking good!

Maybe...

Awesome.

TV babysitter during Bible Study

More coffee, more Jesus.

Nap time...
get out all the hair stuff
so I am ready when the girls wake up.

Go move the pot-garden
 into the sun.

And the one who needed the
most sleep
woke up first. Perfect.

And so it begins.

An hour later...
Big and middle kids are home...
I am growing to hate Little Einsteins
but it is keeping #5 happy while
I detangle/part/braid repeat.

Another hour later.
Can't. Feel. Fingers.

#2, sweet baby girl...
asks to make dinner!
Yes! I will just keep braiding...

No photos of dinner, or bedtime routine...
or the finished hair-do...
but believe me that all of these things did happen!

DONE! Littles in bed,
fuzzy slippers  on,
Hubby home,
Dinner cleaned up,
Time for (DVR'ed) NCIS!

Then... bedtime for the bigger kids... then for me!

Yeah, this is fairly typical for the days we stay home...
minus the in-between stuff you DON'T have pictures of...
messes, spills, diaper changes, and the like!

It's not glamorous all the time, but it's my family!

Easter fun!

I love Easter!
It may actually be my favorite holiday.
I cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I re-read the parallel gospel stories about the last days of Jesus.
I laugh when I read about the angel who came and rolled the stone away...and sat on it!
(it just makes me giggle...like "I just rolled that giant stone all by myself...yes I did.")
I love shopping for the perfect Biblical-based gift for the kids...
this year devotional books, Christian-sports-star biography, and a comic-strip Bible.
I just love it!

This year we did the silk-dyeing egg thing (google it... I can't find the link I used! Sorry!).
It was fun and totally reminded me of the Easter story!
Plain, whit, unblemished eggs...
wrapped in cloths...
wait...wait...wait...
then they emerge even more beautiful than before!

Aren't they so pretty!! And no green-hands in the house!

We are pretty low-key about Easter, but we did an egg-hunt at my mom's house after lunch!

Church was great, the kids were great, lunch was awesome (as always), and we had a glorious day!

Happy 1st Easter, babies!

(**Only 1 Chocolate Bunny was eaten by the dog in the making of this Easter story.)

Yeah, we are alive...

I know I haven't posted much...
we are all fine...
I just have computer issues.
Like...mine doesn't always work.
And it gives me no warning when it's going to just poop-out on me.
So... until I have time for something witty to say...

Yes, they are twins.

He really is cute, just like his daddy!

I just love this picture!

beautiful baby girl! (#6)
I made this super healthy carrot cake...
then the stupid dog ate it.

So then I made these healthy cupcakes.
And yeah...she ate those too.
I ALMOST learned to cornrow...!

But it got fuzzy really fast.
I took it down after only 3 days. :(

We went to watch Uncle Will
play baseball!
The cheering section
My sister, Ben and baby Alice came to visit!
Baby boy loves baby Alice.
That's about it!

Oh...
I made 2 gallons of babycakes today...
so go order some!!!
